What type of material do you treat with? Conventional sprays are not very effective on spiders since spiders are able to walk tippy toed on a surface that was sprayed without actually accumulating a toxic dose. Sprays are effective only when you spray them directly. The problem is; most are hiding when you spray.

We have found that certain botanical dust materials are more effective than liquid sprays. This is because the dust clings to the legs of spiders. Also by dusting the web, spiders come in contact with it. One of our favorite dust is Tri-Die. It contains pyrethrum (derived from chrysanthemum plants, and Silica derived from sand. Silica works by dehydrating the outer surface of a spider.

Where do you treat? Concerns about spider infestations very with every individual. Some of customers request that we treat only the exterior areas. Other times we are requested to treat the crawl space. Others times home owners request we treat every possible area on the property. Consequently we offer a choice of three plans.

Three Plans To Choose From

1. The Basic Plan          2. The Basic Plan+Plus         3. The Complete Treatment

1. The Bee Pole KitBasic Plan consist of an exterior perimeter treatment only. This includes around the foundation, including vents, bark dust and flower bed areas, decks, doors, and windows.

2. The Basic Plan + Plus includes all the above plus the crawl space. To treat the crawl space we use a tool called a "Thermo Fogger". The thermo fogger completely covers the crawls space area with dense cloud that permeates up under the insulation. The solution in the thermo fogger is 3% pyrethrum (derived from chrysanthemum plants) and de-oodorized mineral spirits.

3. The Complete Treatment includes all the above plus a crack and crevice treatment in the interior using a small motorized duster tool. This treatment covers around baseboards and ceilings.

Spider Facts

Spiders are not insects.  Insects have three body parts and six legs.  Spiders have eight legs and two body parts, the abdomen and the thorax.

Spiders have silk spinning glands called spinnerets, at the tip of their abdomen.

  Not all spiders spin webs.

Spiders belong to the Arachnid family.

There are more than 30,000 species of spiders.

Spiders are oviparous, which means their babies come from eggs.

Most spiders have either six or eight eyes.

All spiders have fangs, through which venom is ejected.  Spider bites can be quite painful, and a select few can be fatal.

Fear of spiders is called Arachniphobia.  It is one of the most common fears among humans.

Tarantulas shed their furry skin as they grow, leaving behind what looks just like another tarantula.

Spiders eat many types of harmful insects, helping to keep your garden free of  pests.
